Born From A Movement ●

who we are

Emerging from the #BringPaulaAndMayaHome campaign, on 25 March 2021, Equal Namibia is committed to ensuring equal opportunity before the law and dignity in everyday life.

We work at the intersection of political advocacy, strategic litigation, public education, and community economic empowerment to build a Namibia where no one is left behind.

From challenging discriminatory laws to increasing voter participation, from creating safer public spaces to supporting queer artivism, Equal Namibia exists to turn constitutional promises into lived realities.

why it matters

When LGBTQIA+ people are excluded, targeted, or silenced, it weakens human rights for everyone. A just Namibia is one where diversity is protected, participation is encouraged, and dignity is non-negotiable.

We believe that sustainable change requires more than visibility.

That is why our work is informed by global opportunities, driven by real human experience, and strengthened through partnerships across civil society.

what we envision

A Namibia where LGBTQIA+ people live freely, safely, and equally — protected by law, represented in public life, and affirmed in their communities.

Equality is not a “special interest” – it is a democratic principle.
